Glen Raven To Launch High-Visibility Mesh Safety Fabric

September 22, 2009

Glen Raven Technical Fabrics, Glen Raven, N.C., and specialty fabrics manufacturer Performance Textiles Inc., Greensboro, N.C., recently announced that they will soon introduce GlenGuard Hi-Vis mesh fabric, a high-visibility, flame- and arc flash-resistant mesh fabric designed to make safety vests cooler and more comfortable without sacrificing protective benefits.

The Hi-Vis mesh fabric meets the following safety criteria: ANSI/ISEA 107 for reflectivity and conspicuity, ASTM F 1506 for flame resistance and NFTA 70E arc flash protection with an ATPV of 5.1 cal. The fabric is available in luminescent yellow/green.

Performance Textiles will market the Hi-Vis fabrics to safety apparel manufacturers serving the industrial, highway construction, electric and gas utilities and transportation sectors, plus any industry where high visibility plus flam and arc flash protection are optimal for worker safety, according to the company.
