Graphtec America Releases GEM System

March 09, 2010

Graphtec America, Santa Ana, Calif., recently released its Graphtec Garment Element Matched (GEM) System, which includes a full line of branded supplies tailored for rhinestone apparel decoration, according to the company.

The system includes specially formulated rhinestone stencil material, backing board, hot-fix transfer tape, rhinestone setting brush, training video, assorted hot-fix rhinestones, the CraftROBO Pro cutter, i-DesignR software and a rhinestone starter kit. The starter kit includes enough material to produce several finished rhinestone designs and a training video showing the simple design-cut-apply process.

The i-DesignR graphic software allows creation of original designs using various shape and drawing tools, as well as import filters. It also automatically applies the selected rhinestone, both size and color, to a vector design, which speeds the design process and concept approval for custom or short-run pieces, according to the company.

CraftROBO Pro is based on Graphtec's CE5000 series of professional cutting plotters. In addition to the Graphtec rhinestone stencil, it also can cut many types of apparel material, such as films, flock and twill, as well as vinyl and cardstock, according to the company. It features Automatic Registration Mark Sensor (ARMS), which allows it to contour cut pre-printed decals from a printer.
