November 13, 2009

Vapor Apparel, N. Charleston, S.C., recently received the DPI Product of the Year Award for the Digital Media category. The award was presented by the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) at its Expo, held Oct. 7-9.

The company won the award for its recycled polyester performance fabrics engineered for sublimation printing.

"We are truly honored to receive the DPI Product of the Year from SGIA," says Christopher Bernat, founder and chief revenue officer, Vapor Apparel. "Sustainability is a big part of our business plan and it is nice when the market recognizes innovation."

According to Jackson Burnett, co-founder and president, Vapor Apparel, the product for which the company was honored is made from old plastic bottles and is being produced in a country where almost 70% of the entire power grid is carbon-free.
