Madeira Showcases Embroidery Innovations at ISS AtlantaAug 29, 2007Among the new products making the rounds of the Imprinted Sportswear Shows this year are two unique embroidery products from Madeira USA: a flame-resistant thread and a device for mass producing patches and emblems. Fire Fighter No. 40 is a three-ply embroidery thread made of DuPont Nomex, a flame-resistant material used in firemen's uniforms, racecar driver's apparel and aircraft interiors, among other applications. The thread also has great potential in the electrical and petroleum industries, where flame-resistant identification goes hand-in-hand with flame-resistant uniforms. The Automatic Frame System (AFS) solves the problem small embroidery shops face in efficiently creating large quantities of patches and emblems. The AFS installs on a standard singlehead machine or on multiheads and automatically feeds a continuous roll of special substrate material into the embroidery machine. The system retrofits to most major embroidery machines, including Tajima, Barudan, Brother and Melco, all of which demonstrated the device this past spring when it was introduced at ISS Atlantic City. According to the company, both products will be on display at ISS Atlanta and ISS Fort Worth. RECENT INDUSTRY NEWS HEADLINES
