Perry Ellis Announces Licensing Agreement with Callaway Golf

Perry Ellis Intl., Miami, recently announced that it has reached an agreement with Callaway Golf Inc., Carlsbad, Calif., to design, manufacture and distribute the Callaway brand to golf and sportswear markets in the United States, Latin America, Caribbean and Africa.

"We are very excited about adding the No. 1 golf brand in the world to our diversified portfolio of brands," says George Feldenkreis, chairman and CEO of Perry Ellis Intl. "We see this as an incredible opportunity for both companies to expand Callaway in the apparel market and fulfill the potential that the category has."

As part of the agreement, Perry Ellis Intl. will serve the better department and specialty store, corporate and off-price channels, while Callaway will serve the green grass and golf off course ones through its soft goods sales force. Perry Ellis also will perform the embellishing and warehousing of product for Callaway Golf.

Perry Ellis Intl. and Callaway Golf will serve the market through the remainder of 2009 with product designed and produced by Callaway's previous licensee. Perry Ellis Intl. will take over in spring of 2010.
