Hirsch Intl. Acquires Control of U.S. ScreenAug 15, 2008Expanding its stake in the digital garment printing landscape, Hirsch Intl. Corp., Hauppauge, N.Y., recently announced that it has acquired controlling interest in U.S. Screen Print & Inkjet Technology, Tempe, Ariz., a supplier of inkjet-to-garment equipment, supplies and various decorating educational services. Hirsch is a supplier of equipment and brands that span the decorated apparel landscape, such as Tajima embroidery equipment and Pulse embroidery software, MHM screen printing presses, Kornit and Mimaki digital garment printing equipment, and SEIT textile laser systems. “We are excited about the future of digital garment printing as part of our overall investment in the decorated apparel space,” says Paul Gallagher, CEO, Hirsch Intl. U.S. Screen will continue to operate as an independent company “servicing its worldwide dealer network with inkjet garment printing equipment and screen printing and inkjet printing software and supplies,” Gallagher says. U.S. Screen's popular Web forum — screenprinters.net — will continue to operate as normal, according to Hirsch. Scott Fresener, president and CEO of U.S. Screen, says he will remain at the helm of the company and will continue to offer “solution-based products for the garment decorating industry for years to come.” “The synergies between [Hirsch Intl. and U.S. Screen] is outstanding and we are very excited about these changes,” he adds. “[Customers] will see the new U.S. Screen with better products, better customer service, a larger available inventory and a renewed emphasis on some of our core screen printing products.” RECENT INDUSTRY NEWS HEADLINES
