Come On Down to ISS AtlantaAug 29, 2008The Imprinted Sportswear Shows return to the Southeast for ISS Atlanta, to be held Sept. 11-13 at Cobb Galleria in suburban Atlanta. This is your chance to shop for everything from the latest in blank apparel to equipment and supplies. You’ll also benefit from networking with your peers and suppliers, and you can gain decorating insight through our comprehensive conference program developed by the editors of Impressions. ISS Atlanta is the industry’s leading event for the decorated apparel and imprinted products industry, with more than 3,800 attendees and more than 200 exhibitors. The 2008 show will feature the co-located MarketShow by Promotional Products Association Intl. (PPAI). Your ISS registration will give you access to a separate hall of promotional products vendors specially interested in doing business with apparel decorators. The PPAI MarketShow also features a workshop program that will include four free classes designed to introduce apparel professionals to the rest of the $18.6 billion promotional products industry. Attendees will learn how to increase revenue, improve profits and find new customers. Don’t miss the four sessions: “Promotional Products Demystified: Questions Answered, the Industry’s Secrets Revealed;” “How to Make Promotional Products a Money-Making Part of Your Business Model;” “How to Become a Professional Promotional Products Consultant;” and “Comparing Advertising Media — Trends Spell ‘Promotional Products.’” Visit ppaimarketshows.com for the workshop schedule. Don’t forget to take advantage of ISS Atlanta’s additional special features, including: Green Pavilion and Eco Trail — From product showcases to exhibitors, follow our handy guide to the show floor plan to the latest eco-friendly garments and decorating products. Selling Apparel to Teams & Leagues — This new seminar, led by 26-year industry veteran Doug Wilcoxson of Bomark Sportswear, will help you access this profitable market niche. Team sports rank among the top three markets for apparel decorators, but the competition is fierce. This course offers helpful hints for finding business, securing it, delivering it effectively and overcoming the problems that come with the team/league business. Screen Printing Pricing — If your business has become a victim of commodity pricing, attend this session taught by Greg Kitson of Minds Eye Graphics, a high-volume custom and contract screen printer. Greg will teach you how to take control of your price structure and bottom line. After his presentation, you will finally understand what market pricing is and how it differs from the break-even approach. Embroidery Pricing — Don’t think we’ve ignored pricing issues in the sewing department. Taught by Steven Batts, owner of Righteous Threads, an embroidery and digitizing business, you will learn the different pricing strategies that exist in the embroidery industry, why pricing based on cost is the foundation for profitability and how to derive a price based on your unique business situation. To top it all off, decorators attending ISS Atlanta will automatically be registered to win up to $1,000 worth of apparel, supplies, equipment and shipping to be spent only with exhibitors at the show. What’s more, there are five chances to win! Winners will be announced at 12:15 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on the first and second days of each show, and at 12:15 p.m. on the last show day. You must be present to win. Please visit issshows.com/atlanta for ISS information. — M.D. RECENT INDUSTRY NEWS HEADLINES
