Ink Innovations Offers Eco-Friendly Ultimate Clean-Up Cards

Ink Innovations, Glen Mills, Pa., is offering a new product — the Ultimate Clean-Up Card — which is selling well in the industry, according to the company.

Ink Innovations recently sold one million Clean-Up Cards to Performance Screen Supply, says company representatives. The cards are low-cost ink clean-up devices that prevent screen printing shops from throwing away plastic scrapers, chemical-soaked rags and other supplies. Instead, these cards can be used to scrape away ink, collected in a bucket and sent through a dryer at the end of the day to cure any remaining ink. Then these can be disposed of as solid waste.

"The positive effect on the environment could be enormous," says Edward Long, president of Ink Innovations. "If one latex glove, one gram of ink and one chemical-soaked towel are eliminated per one card used, then the one million cards sold to Performance Screen Supply could prevent 17,000 pounds of latex gloves, 180 gallons of liquid ink and enough chemical-soaked rags to fill a family-sized swimming pool from polluting our environment."
