Tonix Introduces Trendy Activewear Products

Tonix's Scrimmage nylon warm-up is designed for people who lead an active lifestyle as well as athletes who need a durable, lightweight garment, says Michael Chen, marketing director.
One of the strongest trends in imprinted sportswear during the past few years has been the crossover of athletic apparel into the activewear market. Simply put, athletic wear is not just for athletes anymore. One company introducing such new products this year at the Imprinted Sportswear Shows is Fremont, Calif.-based Tonix Corp.
 
"We continue to see strong interest in our lightweight [Invista] Tactel nylon warm-ups," says Michael Chen, marketing director. "These are perfect for the active lifestyle as the material is durable, lightweight and water repellant." Such a product is Tonix's Scrimmage (style #767), which features two front zippered pockets, locker loop, back mesh vent, open bottom waist with drawstring and two side cord locks. According to Chen, the style is available in nine different color combinations in sizes S-4XL. Matching pants also are available.

Chen also notes a shift in the placement of apparel decoration on these garments. "More and more we are seeing apparel being decorated on other locations besides the traditional left chest," he says. "The center chest, slightly beneath the neckline, is a popular area for embroidery."

According to Chen, Tonix is currently offering a new long-sleeve moisture management shirt, the Forward (style #858), that has a stitching design beneath the neck that makes an ideal location for embroidery. This garment features colorfast, stain-resistant, moisture-wicking fabric construction and tagless labeling. It's available in 10 color combinations with contrasting accent piping in sizes S-4XL.

Tonix will be showing its new line at ISS Orlando, Feb. 8-10, at the Orange County Convention Center. — R.L.
