A Working SolutionAug 1, 2008
In addition to attending seminars and networking with Hirsch executives and industry educators, attendees saw demonstrations of equipment that included numerous decorating applications: embroidery (including chenille, sequins, cording and taping), screen printing, inkjet-to- garment printing, rhinestones, textile laser appliqué and engraving, and more. The studio also featured a comprehensive display of decorated samples from some of the industry's top shops, which served as idea generators for attendees looking to raise their own bars. "The inspiration for the Solutions Studio came from our customers and their desire to see what's possible with the new technologies in a true hands-on environment," says Mike McEvoy, vice president of marketing, Hirsch Intl. "They know there are challenges in growing their businesses in today's climate, and that they can't survive by standing still. The goal is for decorators to shorten the learning curve by seeing first-hand these decorating applications from concept to garment completion in an intimate setting." The showroom is open to all sizes of apparel decoration firms, from start-ups needing basic insight to large production shops eager to diversify their services. The Solutions Studio also will host educational seminars open to anyone interested in attending.
