Insta Graphic's Transfers Cover Multiple 2008 TrendsJan 10, 2008Insta Graphic Systems, Cerritos, Calif., foresees several decoration trends for 2008, including tagless labels, off-edge and soft-hand printing, and vintage-inspired four-color Lithos. The company's tagless heat transfer label products, such as Labeltrans, Ultraspan and Fastrans, are the latest products to hit the market and will be on display at ISS Long Beach, Jan. 18-20, along with many of the company's other apparel decoration products. Insta's Model 929 Pic n' Place machine is designed for tagless label application, and features automatic time and pressure controls, according to the company. The machine can be added to Insta's Model 909. Over the past few years, decorators have been moving towards more atypical decoration processes and placements. Insta now offers spot-color and four-color hot-peel transfers that are ideal for off-edge and oversized graphic decoration. In addition, the transfers leave virtually no hand. Though vintage has been popular for some time in the decorated apparel channel, Insta predicts it will remain an unwavering trend. The company offers a four-color process Litho transfer, which it says is reminiscent of the shiny, heavy-handed transfers of the 1970s. This transfer is ideal for highly illustrated graphics and offers photographic clarity. It can be produced in matte, gloss, shimmer and glitter finishes. With the prevalence of the "green" movement, Insta also has created several eco-friendly products. Several new products include PVC-Free Litho and Sublimation, InstaGlo and Flock heat transfer products, all of which are PVC-free. — H.S. RECENT INDUSTRY NEWS HEADLINES
