Repreve Introduces Nylon Yarn, New Partnerships

Unifi Inc., the manufacturer of Repreve polyester, recently expanded its offerings to include Repreve nylon 6.6. Like Repreve polyester, Repreve nylon also is made from 100% recycled materials. Unifi has partnered with Burlington Worldwide, a division of International Textile Group (ITG), and United Knitting to develop new woven and knit fabrics using Repreve nylon. ITG will feature Repreve nylon under its Generations Collection, targeting technical sportswear, while United Knitting will feature it in a series of eco-friendly knit fabrics for activewear.

"Our partnership with Unifi will allow ITG to offer eco-friendly, high-performance fabrics that exceed our customers' performance expectations," says Dale Arnold, executive vice president for ITG.

Unifi will debut Repreve nylon at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2008, Aug. 8-11 in Salt Lake City.
