Air Waves Inc. Introduces Soft-Hand Transfer ProcessNovember 11, 2011
The SuperTone heat transfer process is a specifically formulated phthalate-free, opaque decoration that can be applied to a range of fabrics and colors used for childrenwear, cottons, tri-blends, outerwear and athletic garments. The applied decoration is durable and has an extremely soft-hand feel. Most of the transfers produced to date with the SuperTone ink system can be applied over seams, zipper gaps, collars and plackets using commercial heat transfer machines without special handling, according to the company. The opacity of the image can be adjusted from opaque to semi-opaque to satisfy specific design requirements. When combined with distressed patterns, the resulting decoration takes on a vintage look. The process can be applied to garment colors ranging from white to light, as well as mid-range and dark fabrics, according to the company. For more information, visit airwavesinc.com. — S.G.
