Alternative Apparel Unveils Spring 2012 Collection

Alternative Apparel, Atlanta, unveiled its spring 2012 collection on Oct. 18, at an exclusive fashion presentation during Los Angeles Fashion Week.

The company's 2012 spring line — dubbed “Oasis of Color” — features rich textures, sun-bleached desert washes, bold prints and a vibrant color palette, which all were inspired by the unique, natural landscape of California’s Palm Springs desert, according to the company.

The season’s highlights include asymmetrical maxi-dresses and high-waisted mini-skirts in colorful prints, as well as a selection of novelty pieces for women, including sheer, mesh tanks, cut-out sweatshirts and beaded Baja Cloth ponchos. The men’s line also offers breezy Baja Wovens in hoodies, shorts and button-downs, plus more of the brand’s vintage varsity-style A Game collection. The company also will launch an entirely new assortment of nautical-inspired bags and accessories, including canvas and leather satchels, totes and carryalls in a variety of colorful solids, stripes and prints.
