Hirsch Video Demonstrates Oversize Shirt Printing

September 28, 2009

A still image from the Hirsch training video that shows how to do oversize prints on a Mimaki DTG printer
A new video from Hirsch Intl. shows how to print oversize designs on the Mimaki inkjet garment printer the company distributes. To see the video, visit hirschinternational.com . Click on “Direct To Garment Printer” and search the right navigation bar for available videos. Click here for a direct link to the video hosted on YouTube.com.

The six-minute presentation shows how to load a T-shirt on to dual platens. The demonstration, done on the Mimaki GP604, shows how the printhead automatically adjusts to the height of garment collars, pockets and seams. It shows an oversize print, which measures 16.5" x 24", going right over the collar.

After loading the shirt, the operator presses a cycle start button. This moves an optical eye across the shirt to adjust the machine for the oversize design. The printer also automatically overprints every square inch of the design for double coverage.
