Insta Wins SGIA Golden Image Award

Insta Graphic Systems, Cerritos, Calif., was recently honored with the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) Golden Image Gold award for "Skelly Bones" in the Heat Transfer — Textile Products/True Process Colors category, as well as the Howard Schellenberg for Chroma Depth 3-D Art in the Heat Transfer — Textile Products/Digital category.

More than 90 companies from around the world entered the competition, submitting nearly 450 entries in 43 product categories. Conducted during the 2009 SGIA Expo, held Oct. 7-9 in New Orleans, this year's event drew a wide range of innovative imaging products.

The Golden Image is a technical competition, excluding aesthetic issues from the judging process. Prints are judged on difficulty level and quality of execution, according to Johnny Shell, vice president of technical services, SGIA.
