LIDS Sports Group Unveils Retail Plans, Announces Acquisition

LIDS Sports Group, Indianapolis, a division of Hat World Inc., has reached an agreement with the 2012 Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee to set up a LIDS Locker Room @ Circle Centre store within “The Huddle” for the game.

The 23,000 square foot store, which will be open from Jan. 27-Feb. 5, will absorb the second floor of “The Huddle at Circle Centre.” Situated in the heart of downtown Indianapolis, the temporary retail space will be transformed into a fan destination, with activities and autograph session opportunities, as well as a selection of officially licensed AFC, NFC and Super Bowl XLVI apparel and memorabilia. A portion of every purchase at the LIDS Locker Room @ Circle Centre will be donated to the newly established LIDS Foundation to help support its mission to make a meaningful difference in the lives of disadvantaged youth by helping organizations that sustain healthy, active lifestyle programs.

LIDS Sports Group also donated uniform apparel for all of the 2012 Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee’s volunteers. Donated garments include winter coats, Dri-Fit tops, back packs, ear bands, knit hats and mittens.

In addition, LIDS Sports Group recently acquired Transfer Magic, Anderson, Ind., a technology company that specializes in online embellishment services.

This acquisition allows LIDS and Transfer Magic to capitalize on complementary strengths and employees’ extensive expertise by sharing best practices for online marketing and embellishment processes. LIDS Sports Group will principally use Transfer Magic’s widespread technology to enhance its LIDS Team Sports division’s online customization platform, according to the company.
