Lawson Releases 2010 Textile Tech Schedule

Lawson Screen & Digital Products, St. Louis, recently debuted the schedule of its hands-on workshops for beginner textile printers in 2010.

Monthly two-day workshops will be held on a Friday and Saturday, and are limited to 12 people, to maximize the hands-on experience. Classes will be held at the company’s St. Louis headquarters and at its Atlanta branch. The cost is $300 per person, all required materials are supplied, as well as lunch each day.

Textile Tech covers:
• Basic art design and preparation as it applies to screen printing
• Introduction to digital imaging applications
• Mesh selection for both light and dark garments
• Ink selection and use
• Hands-on screen making and screen exposure
• Hands-on press set-up and registration
• Production techniques, tips and tricks
• Equipment maintenance
• General troubleshooting
• Hands-on screen cleaning and stencil removal
