Legislation Introduced to Amend CPSIAJune 06, 2011New legislation has been introduced to amend the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA), according to the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA). Rep. Mary Bono Mack (R-CA) has introduced legislation, H.R. 1939, to provide the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) with greater authority and discretion in enforcing the consumer product safety laws and for other purposes. The bill was referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. The CPSC is expected to issue its final rules regarding development of testing programs in the near future.
