Nightmare Graphics Lands Census Takers T-Shirts Contract

Nightmare Graphics, Columbia, Md., a screen printing, embroidery and promotional specialty business, recently completed a contract to print all T-shirts for the nation's Census Takers, according to the company.

"Being a certified GSA vendor certainly paid off, as the Bureau of the Census only solicited those companies for the bid on the 1,037,400 T-shirts [that had to be printed]," says Sam Andelman, president, Nightmare Graphics.

Other than price, another major factor in winning the bid was the company's ability to complete the job in 25 days. According to Nightmare Graphics, workers put in 16-hour days for the entire duration of the time required to complete the job. Shipments were delivered to the last two cities, Philadelphia and New York City, on the final day of the contract.

"More important than the job itself is the credibility it gives the company when other government jobs go out on bid," Andelman says.
