PPAI President Emeritus H. Ted Olson Passes

H. Ted Olson, MAS, president emeritus of Promotional Products Association Intl. (PPAI) and renowned industry leader, passed away April 28 after a short illness. He was 81 years old.

Olson was president of PPAI, then called Specialty Advertising Association Intl., from 1979 until his retirement in 1996. He was named to the PPAI Hall of Fame in 1997.

Upon retiring, Olson became a salesperson for Geiger and was a frequent visitor at the PPAI Expo. He also continued to be involved with his regional association, Promotional Products Association Southwest, the local Rotary Club and Boy Scouts Of America.

“We are deeply saddened by Ted’s passing,” says Steve Slagle, CAE, PPAI president and CEO. “We view Ted as one of the promotional products industry icons and he will definitely be missed."

Olson is survived by wife, Kathleen, and daughter, Chris.
