Wilcom DecoNetwork Allows Custom Online Apparel DesignJanuary 20, 2010Wilcom, Sidney, Australia, capitalizing on the popularity of online shopping, has unveiled an online store solution that lets customers design and print their own apparel and sell it worldwide. Wilcom DecoNetwork provides the technology platform for printers and embroiderers to offer shoppers the ability to design and order different products, from bags to T-shirts. DecoNetwork's online designer lets users select a product, upload their own designs or choose from stock embroidery and print designs. The solution also gives apparel decorators the chance to create a grassroots network of affiliate online stores that can be offered to schools, local sporting clubs, budding T-shirt designers or niche interest groups. These affiliate stores can be uniquely branded online with products centered on a particular theme, such as football teams, babies or song lyrics. Their orders are filled by the DecoNetwork Fulfillment Center to which they are linked. "In 2010, we are witnessing the next most significant change in technology and consumer trends," says Martin Kristiaman, CEO, Wilcom. "The ability to offer custom embroidery and print online, without the risks and costs usually associated with e-commerce, is extraordinary and heralds a very exciting era in the decorated goods industry." Wilcom recently released DecoNetwork 2, which allows users to set up an online store quickly with little to no Web experience. It includes the online designer, order management and marketing tools, more than 600 branded products, designs and fonts, a secure shopping cart and live shipping.
