American Apparel Rolls Out new Youth SizesSeptember 10, 2004![]() Los Angeles-based apparel manufacturer American Apparel introduced its new Youth Line, a collection of eight Classic Girl and Standard American styles designed to fill the gap between its Classic Baby and Classic Girl sizes, at the Dallas Imprinted Sportswear Show. The line, which includes youth sizes 7-8, 10-12 and 14-16, was created from existing styles resized to fit 10- to 13-year-olds, who are too big for the Classic Baby line but to small for the Classic Girl or Standard American lines. The Youth Line includes the unisex fine jersey short-sleeve T-shirt (style 2201); the baby rib cap-sleeve T-shirt (style 4221); the baby rib cap-sleeve raglan (style 4277); baby rib 3/4-sleeve raglan (style 4253); the unisex baby rib long-sleeve T-shirt (style 4207); the 2x1 rib boy beater tank top (style 3208); the stretch cotton skort (style 8225); and the jersey P.E. short (style 1201). While the collection is being heralded as the Youth Line, it is not a new youth label. Instead, the newly resized styles will remain under the Classic Girl and Standard American lines.
