American & Efird Announces Executive Changes

August 5, 2015

American & Efird (A&E), Mount Holly, N.C., recently announced that, effective Sept. 28, Fred Jackson will retire as CEO and become non-executive chairman of the company’s board of directors.

Les Miller will be promoted to CEO.

Jackson has led A&E for almost two decades. Under his tenure as CEO, A&E achieved record revenues, and strengthened its culture of continuous improvement and focus on safety and sustainability, according to the company.  In addition, the company completed three acquisitions of former joint ventures in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and China, as well as that of Gütermann, the fourth largest company in the global thread industry. These acquisitions expanded A&E’s geographic footprint, diversified its end markets and enhanced its ability to serve customers globally.

Miller has served as COO since February 2008. Prior to becoming COO, he led A&E global sales as senior vice president since 1999.
