A4 Goes Green with Recycled Polyester
A4, manufacturer of premium sportswear and team uniforms, is now making all its most popular apparel, and the vast majority of its line, with recycled polyester.
FULL STORYQuiksilver Inc., Greensboro, N.C., has launched its newly designed Quiksilver AG47 New Wave board shorts, which are made with REPREVE fibers.
REPREVE fibers are made from recycled materials, including plastic bottles, and are manufactured by Unifi Inc. A pair of Quiksilver AG47 New Wave board shorts contains an average of 11 recycled plastic bottles, according to the company. In addition to the AG47 collection of board shorts, Quiksilver now uses REPREVE in more than 75% of its total board short line.
The AG47 New Wave board short is made using Quiksilver Dry Flight technology and features four-way stretch with Scotchgard Protector Repellent by 3M, which helps water to bead up and roll off, allowing the fabric to dry quickly. This technology extends to the laser-cut, heat-welded panels that offer maximum strength and lightness, according to the company .
The collection is available in three unique colors: Anthracite, Gargoyle and blue.
