When times get tough, comfort-starved Americans don’t simply stop devouring their favorite, fuzzy fleece garments — thank goodness. They do, however, start looking for lighter, less expensive fleece fare that’s easier on the wallet. Check out the fleece styles suppliers are currently offering.

Atlantic Coast Cotton offers this crewneck fleece sweatshirt from Anvil Knitwear. Atlantic Coast Cotton carries this Anvil style, as well as a pullover hoodie and full-zip hoodie, in a range of colors and sizes.

The women's Micro Fleece Quarter Zip Pullover (style W4004) from Alo is made of 100% polyester micro fleece and features an anti-pilling treatment and contrast microfiber at the side panels. Sizes S-2XL come in three colors.

The Adult Hooded Pullover Fleece (style 1573 AAA) from Alstyle Apparel is constructed of 9-ounce 80% ring-spun cotton/20% polyester. It has set-in sleeves, all over cover-seamed construction, and a rib bottom and sleeve cuffs made of Lycra spandex. It comes in 13 colors.

American Apparel's Kids Flex Fleece Zip Hoody (style F197) is made from 50% polyester/50% cotton fleece. It has a matching nylon zipper and kangaroo pocket. Unisex sizes 2, 4 and 6 come in six colors.

The Solid Fleece Scarf from Aprons Etc. is made of 13-ounce polyester fleece. It measures 9" x 58" and comes in red, royal, black and navy.

Bella's Two-Tone Raglan Hooded Sweatshirt (style 7010) is made from 7.5-ounce 100% combed, ring-spun cotton. It features a contoured full-zip front body with contrast-colored raglan sleeves. Sizes S-2XL come in seven colors.

The unisex pullover hoodie (style AF1028) from Beimar Inc. is made of 10-ounce 80% cotton/20% polyester. It has a contrast jersey hood lining and drawcord. Sizes S-2XL come in five colors.

Benison Apparel's fleece styles include the men's Fleece Q-Zip Mock (style 200, left) and the women's Fleece Zip Jacket (style 888, right).

The Stewart Fleece Pant (style 3717) from Canvas features wide-leg bottoms, inside side pockets and an elastic waistband. The pants are preshrunk and laundered, and made from 7.5-ounce 100% combed and ring-spun cotton. Sizes S-2XL come in three colors.

Bodek and Rhodes offers the UltraClub Sherpa-Lined Full-Zip Fleece with Hood (style 8450). It's made with 100% polyester micro-Sherpa lining and is crafted for warmth, durability and comfort.

The Touchdown Capris from Boxercraft feature a cuffed bottom and are constructed of a 7-ounce 60% cotton/40% polyester fleece. Adult sizes XS-XL and youth sizes YS-YL come in an array of colors.

BroderBros. offers the Harriton Full-Zip Fleece (style M990), which is made of 100% polyester fleece and features a finished non-pill face. It also has front-zip pockets, and dyed-to-match zippers and zipper pull.

The crewneck bomber sweatshirt (style 1561) from Barry T. Chouinard is made of 100% preshrunk and ring-spun cotton. It has a side-seamed body with double-needle stitching everywhere. Sizes S-4XL come in 22 stock colors.

Commonwealth Cotton offers the Pounder, a heavyweight 15.5-ounce reverse-weave fleece sweatshirt. It is generously sized and has double-needle stitching throughout. This style is made in the United States. Sizes M-3XL come in five colors.

The Flex 5312 from Dri Duck Traders is constructed of 100% polyester soft-shell flex fleece with an anti-pill finish. The style has a three-layer bonded construction that combines a flexible, breathable membrane with two layers of fleece for wind resistance. It comes in three colors.

Fruit of the Loom's Supercotton Full-Zip Hooded Sweatshirt (style 82230R) is made of 12-ounce fleece. The sweatshirt is label-free and has double-needle coverstitching on the neck, armholes and band bottom. Sizes S-3XL come in three colors.

The Hanes Premium Cotton Pullover Hood (style B170) is made of 9-ounce 80% cotton/20% polyester fleece. It is preshrunk and pill-resistant. Sizes S-3XL come in 12 classic colors.

Rawlings Performance Brushed Fleece Hood (style RP9716) from Heritage Sportswear is constructed of 100% polyester fleece, and features side pockets, rib bottom and cuffs, contrasting lined hood and Rawlings logo on the sleeve. Sizes S-5XL come in several colors.

The Vibe sweatshirt (style 2498) from Holloway Sportswear is made of 9-ounce 80% cotton/20% polyester fleece. It has a full, casual fit and tri-color design with piping and inserts. Unisex sizes 2XS-3XL come in many team and classic colors.

The Storm Creek Wild Hair Jacket (style 4280) from Imprints Wholesale is constructed of polyester micro fleece and features a feminine fit, front zippered pockets, cadet collar and raglan sleeves. Women's sizes XS-3XL come in black, dark brown and pearl.

Jerzees Super Sweats 9.5-ounce 50% cotton/50% polyester NuBlend fleece is made using yarns spun by air jet, creating a soft hand and pill-free appearance. Style 4662M has a smooth printing canvas, seamless body with set-in sleeves, and cuffs and waistband with Lycra spandex for stretch and recovery.

The hooded fleece blanket from Kideapolis Inc. features a hood, pockets and Velcro neck tab. The blanket rolls into the hood, with the neck tab serving as a handle for easy carrying.

L.A. T Sportswear offers this fleece Youth Zippered Hoodie (style 2246) in eight colors. It features durable stitching throughout, and comes in youth sizes XS-L. A companion toddler and infant style also are available.

The ladies Thermal Lined Zip Hood (style EZ347) from One Stop Inc. is made of 9-ounce 68% cotton/32% polyester fleece. The hood, body and sleeves are lined with cream-colored thermal 50% cotton/50% polyester. Sizes S-2XL come in several fashionable colors.

The Columbia men's Steens Mountain full-zip jacket (style 6113, right) and women's Benton Spring jacket (style 6114, left) from River's End Trading Co. are made of 100% polyester fleece. The women's style comes in sizes S-XL in four colors, and the men's jacket comes in sizes S-3XL in five colors.

Royal Apparel's heavyweight fleece hoodie (style RA10053) is thermal-lined and made of 11-ounce 80% cotton/20% polyester. It has set-on sleeve cuffs and bottom band, a hood with drawstrings and full pouch pockets. Sizes S-4XL come in two colors.

Sierra Pacific Apparel offers micro fleece jackets for women and men (styles 3301 and 5301, respectively). Both are made from 5.7-ounce 100% polyester and feature dyed-to-match piping and a cling-free lining. Men's sizes S-3XL and women's sizes XS-3XL come in six colors.

This American-made sweatshirt (style 110) by S.O.S. From Texas is made of 100% organic cotton grown in Texas. Adult sizes S-2XL come in a creamy, natural color.

The Independent Trading Co. Sherpa Lined Hoodie (style EXP50TSZ) from S&S Activewear is made of 6-ounce enzyme-washed 100% cotton. The interior is lined with 5.75-ounce Sherpa. Sizes S-2XL come in four combination colors.

Tri-Mountain offers the women's Cienna vest (style 7410), which is made of 10.2-ounce 100% polyester Panda fleece. It has anti-pill properties, nylon panels on the front and back yoke, and chest and side zippered pockets. A men's companion garment, the Surveyor (style 7440), also is available.

The Tultex unisex zip-up hoodie from TSC Apparel is made from a blend of ring-spun cotton and polyester. Style 0331TC is offered in sizes XS-3XL in black and white. A juniors style also is available.

Wolfmark offers eco-friendly fleece scarves. Each measures 9" x 60" and features a merrow edge. The scarves come in black, maroon, hunter green and royal.
